After finishing the reindeer hat for my husband, a teacher that I work with asked me if I could make one for him. Since he is an environmentalist, I suggested turtles and he was very enthusiastic. I based this on the reindeer hat pattern but modified a few things like it was too big around and too high. I also created the chart from a digitized turtle picture from Google images. There are a couple of things I would do differently on the next one which will be a Christmas present for my nephew Tom. Just as when I design my own quilts, I get an even bigger finish rush when it's my own creation. Maybe this could be a second career after I retire!
